The short version

XBookmark is a local-first app. Your bookmarks, images, transcripts, and the AI models that process them all live and run on your Mac. We do not operate servers that receive your data, we do not require an account, and we do not collect analytics.

What stays on your Mac

• Your X bookmarks and their media, stored in a local database.
• All AI processing — categorization, vision analysis, transcription, translation — runs on-device.
• Your moodboards, categories, corrections, and settings.

What leaves your Mac

• Media downloads: the app fetches bookmarked images and videos directly from X's servers, the same way your browser would.
• License activation: when you enter a license key, the key and a device identifier are sent to our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) to activate it. No bookmark data is included.
• Optional model downloads: on-device AI models are fetched once from public model registries.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Your payment details go to them, not us. See theLemon Squeezy privacy policy.

The Chrome extension

The bundled extension reads your X bookmarks page and forwards new bookmarks to the app on 127.0.0.1 — your machine only. It sends nothing to any external server.
